An intimidating man with issues
bkoganbing20 March 2017
This episode of Laramie has Slim Sherman coming rather reluctantly to the aid of old war buddy Charles Aidman whom he offered a job to with his release from prison. But it's a different kind of aid now that Aidman wants from John Smith. He's looking to run from a new charge of murder and from the same peace officer that arrested Aidman before, Marshal R.G. Armstrong of Cheyenne.

Armstrong is a ruthless and intimidating man even taking over the town of Laramie looking for a wounded Aidman and saloon girl Jan Shepard who is a witness. He's also a man with some real issues.

Armstrong totally dominates this Laramie episode. This is a worth a look for what he does with his role.

not a marshal

I've never seen r.g. armstrong in any performance where he wasn't mean, belligerent, over bearing and coarse, even as a preacher quoting from the bible so why should he be any different here ... he was like a rabid dog needing to be killed and because its a family show they only wounded him .. the side bar was the 2 other saloon girls dickering over money .. expected ... the sheriff mort corey played by stuart anderson has always been ineffective and a waste of time
