When Jess is released by Prado's gang he runs into the barn with Slim and Lita. He retrieves a lever action rifle from inside the barn and racks the lever, thus seemingly chambering a round from the magazine, as he is returning to the door where Slim is standing. Slim goes to cover a back window. As Jess takes a position at the door and just after the first shot is fired at him from one of the gang members he again racks the lever of the rifle as if to load the chamber again. However since he has already done that no live round was ejected from the chamber upon racking the lever the second time. See more »
