Riding home with a deer he shot, Jess is attacked by three Sioux braves wanting the meat. Jess is having a hard time when the fight is spotted by a man on a hill above. He rides down firing at the braves causing them to run off. He introduces himself to Jess. He is Clay Jackson, a charming self-styled Robin Hood, who has come to Laramie to ply his trade; to rob from the rich and befriend the poor so that witnesses to his thieving ways are few. His presence creates friction between Slim Sherman and Jess Harper, with Jess beholden to Jackson for saving his life. When Jackson goes free after his trial for holding up the Laramie stage, events are set into motion to drive Jackson to steal again, only it costs the deputy sheriff his life. Slim is set to avenge the deputy, despite the fact that Jackson is the faster gun, which puts Jess between his best friend and the man who saved his life. Slim's determination to bring Clay Jackson to justice could cost both Jess and Slim their lives. Written by DarSpi

There is history
15 February 2017 | by (Buffalo, New York) – See all my reviews

Gentleman bandit and high liver Jock Mahoney arrives in Laramie by way of a stagecoach robbery which makes it the business of Slim Sherman. But Mahoney and Jess Harper have some history and Robert Fuller is caught in the middle.

Mahoney is known as a Robin Hood who states he never robs working people, but he lifts a money belt from a banker and spreads some of it around. That makes him most popular and not easy to pick a jury that isn't sympathetic to him.

Robert Fuller tells John Smith that Mahoney is one fast draw and he proves it to him. It's his taste for high living that brings him down.

Note performances by Adam West as a deputy who Mahoney kills and George Mitchell and Jocelyn Brando as a farm couple who Mahoney aids then betrays.

I guess the moral is Robin Hood types are too good to be true.
