I'm not sure Slim Sherman didn't play a lowdown dirty trick on Jess Harper in this
Laramie story.. When he gets a letter from the guy who is the big kahuna of the
Overland Stagecoach line played by veteran character actor Douglass Dumbrille
instead of going himself John Smith sends Robert Fuller.
Dumbrille has a high spirited daughter in Fay Spain and she hasn't met any men that are to Dumbrille's liking. Worse than that though, a lot of Overland Stage money has gone missing and the prime suspects are the many people courting Spain.
Getting shot at by one of the many trigger happy gunmen upon arriving at Dumbrille's ranch didn't get things started on the right foot with Robert Fuller. Still things are righted in the end.
Nice performance from Dumbrille who if he wasn't wheelchair bound would be handling a lot of his business on his own and not be needing gunmen on his payroll. Also look for George Kennedy in an early role for him as one of the gunslingers working for Dumbrille.
