Robert Urich and Clu Gulager
24 June 2010 | by (Youngstown,Ohio) – See all my reviews

Another early episode dealing with racism and bigotry in the Old West, with another excellent cast.Caine is established to be in Kilgore,Arizona, which he discovers to be home for Lin Wu(Kam Yuen),his fellow student at the Shaolin Temple, who left after being defeated by Caine in a ritual combat set up by their masters.Lin Wu is a medical practitioner serving the locals, but has mysteriously disappeared after treating Livvy McKenzie(Kathleen Lloyd)for headaches that she fears may be related to the illness that killed her mother.Livvy's fiancée is Greg Dundee(Robert Urich),head of a group of rowdies who delight in mistreating the local Chinese citizens, especially Soong(Benson Fong),a kindly old man forced to keep silent to ensure the safety of his family.Caine's arrival does not sit well with any of them, and Sheriff Rutledge(Clu Gulager)suggests that he leave town, but the determined Caine succeeds in exposing the truth, and paying a debt to his friend.Richard Loo returns as Master Sun,the character he played in the original pilot(and would play again in "Besieged:Cannon at the Gates"),while another actor from the pilot,Benson Fong, would go on to do two further entries,"The Brujo" and "The Vanishing Image.".John Anderson,as Greg's complicit father, also appeared in the episode "Crossties," and Scott Hylands would return for the episode "The Spirit-Helper."
