How far will somebody go to satisfy their obsession? Henry Keiler, a millionaire philatelist desires a rare stamp enough to commission its theft from a Greek official. He accompanies a beautiful young woman, Elaine Kastos, to meet her lover (the thief) at the docks, waiting in the car with the chauffeur. She signals two men in a nearby car who Mace the thief (Yanni Psalidas) and the chauffeur, shoot Yanni, grab his belt, and flee with Elaine. The killing continues; Ekaine and one of her "friends" are shot on orders from Harry Fein, who owns the only other surviving stamp like the one Keiler is obsessed with. Kojak meets with Keilor and is appalled with his inverted passion-caring more for stamps than people. Fein offers the two stamps to Keilor for one million dollars. Kojak is in on the final negotiations and witnesses the true extent of unbridled obsession, when Keilor does the right thing for the wrong reason. Written by jeaneva

When A Hobby Becomes An Obsession
15 February 2012 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

Ever know anyone obsessed with their hobby? Well, you'll see one here, a guy so obsessed about his stamp collection that his mind is totally twisted. So is the crook who's trying to sell the stamp to him.

It all starts with a reunion of sorts when a Greek ship docks and a pretty woman is waiting to meet her lover. You know something is up when she arrives with two other men. What ensues is pretty dramatic. What ensues a short time later is dramatic, too, as dead bodies start to pile up.

This is another great episode in this second season, which is far superior to the first season of Kojak. As this season has gone, the episodes seem to be getting better and better.

There are some performances in here, notably by Ivor Francis as the stamp collector "Henry Keilor," and by actor/singer Gale Garnett as "Elaine Kastos."
