Storyline

A newbie from Baltimore is gunned down at a Manhattan bus stop by a thug she knows, who wants only her huge, expensive ring, but can't pry it off before he has to flee. Lt. Kojak discovers the ring was swiped from a safety deposit box, in a recent, unsolved bank knock-over. Few fences will handle such a mammoth heist of insured valuables. Tony Curcheo, a Vegas mobster is in town, and ducks Kojak, who consequently suspects Tony's in NYC to cash out those hot goods. Written by David Stevens

Fence With a Libido
10 November 2012 | by (Buffalo, New York) – See all my reviews

This episode of Kojak finds Telly Savalas investigating the homicide of a young woman who was from Baltimore whom we see gunned down on a park bench. What also happens is that the shooter tries to remove a ring from her hand with a diamond like the star of India. The young couple who interrupt that become the witnesses who call the police.

You have to admit that's one hell of a clue for Kojak and the squad. Turns out it's part of a big jewelry heist from Baltimore where the deceased came from. And that puts the squad on finding the crew that did this because they might be in the New York area.

The key to this case is Alex Rocco who is a well known mob figure from Las Vegas. Rocco who is best known for playing Moe Green in The Godfather has an insatiable libido. He's also a well known fence and for this Savalas calls in female patrol officer Lynnette Mettey who wears a dress slashed up to her navel and sashays in front of Rocco. Just couldn't pass it by.

Sometimes something looks too good to be true and it usually is.
