Don't ask me what was going through Karan's mind when he thought to invite former friends Rani Mukherjee and Kareena Kapoor to come and be on his show at the same time. You could cut the tension in the room with a knife, as the two actresses tried to remain civil with one another. Rani (the nice one) successfully saved face but Kareena (the meaner one) came off as her usual self trying to be civil but failing vainly.
The nature of why the two actress fell out is not addressed on the show but they both admit that they were former friends and have recently tried to patch things up. When asked if two actresses can be friends, Kareena answered no, while Rani answered yes. Kareena's explanation: competition. Rani's: compromise. Rani's theory seemed more valid because she is generally a nice person and you could tell that she just wants everybody to get along.
The highlights of the show include:
1. When Karan introduces Rani, he calls her short and unattractive. Yet he is still able to smile and save face with her when she walks out.
2. When he brings out Kareena, she refuses to even acknowledge that Rani is sitting there until later in the show when Karan points that out.
3. Rani revealing that she cried on Amitabh's shoulder when she realised that she was dropped from Kal Ho Na Ho.
4. Kareena admitting that she purposely screened Karan's calls during the casting of Kal Ho Na Ho and in the process lost a year+ worth of friendship with him.
Just like the premiere episode, if you can catch a re-run of this one as well, it's a must watch!
