ok, yes Hasselhoff sings, but that's not good

I remember DH progressing thru his singing which pretty much only really hit in Europe and in particular Germany. His to be wife also "sings" although I'm fairly certain she's lip-syncing.

I never appreciated DH's singing, and that's ok. The singing isn't so terrible to ruin the ep, but it doesn't add to it either. It's missing several of the comedic devices that are generally part of eps which is a bad thing, but they needed the room for all the singing.

So enjoy it to hear a guy sing with his wife to be.

Pulls off Hasselhoff as a singer
xfmand31 January 2022
In this episode, Michael, and his female (human) Co-Star (Catherine Hickland) are cast as singers. As you know, Hasselhoff (Michael) is the main character and his primary long lost love interest, played by Catherine, was cast as such, but there obviously wasn't any expectations of either of them being used to portray singers.

To be honest, I give almost every episode of Knight Rider 8 stars, and this is no exception, but is there is something very different about this episode.

Normally, part of the fun is the creativity of the Stunt Drivers and Stunt Coordinators who use all sorts of clever tricks pull off both the action sequences as well as the many different ways they manage to hide a driver within KITT.

This episode had very few such sequences so it was very unimpressive in that respect, but the "wizardary" that normally gets created by the Stunt-people, in this episode, was transferred to the director instead!

Most Hollywood actors and actresses are pretty-good singers, and that includes Hasselhoff and Hickland. But their actual voices in this episode weren't good enough, by themselves, to believably pull off the roles of being Rock stars.

The cute trick here was that the director put their true talent, ACTING, into play to make up for the loss... most the singing scenes are done with the two next to each and often touching, using their acting abilities to an extra dimension to those scene to make the musical scenes come through very nicely - in other words, the chemistry is good that, in my opinion, it successfully takes distracts from the lack of superb singing.

In my mind, this was just as much of a "clever stunt" as all the jumping and self-driving, and was pulled off just as well, if not better, than the normal types of "clever tricks."

Worth watching if you're willing to see some car chases replaced by some singing and some (acted out) physical chemistry. :-)

Let It Be Me
Prismark1016 January 2019
Michael Long's lost love Stevie March returns. She is now a singer in a rock band. The lead singer of the band Greg Noble has died and she contacts the Foundation.

Michael joins the band, pretending he was well known as a singer in Australia.

Michael comes across some binary code in Greg's videos which is deciphered as airline schedules. The Foundation thinks that someone associated with the band is using the code for smuggling drugs.

The plot is hokey and silly. It is all an excuse for David Hasselhoff to sing. Steer clear if you cannot stand his songs, as Hasselhoff sings throughout the episode.

Cheesiest line goes to Stevie who tells Michael that she and Greg were a couple but at night she thought of him!

This could be our first knight together

This is hands down the best all time episode. Stevie comes back again from the white bird episode from the first season to get Michael to join her band called Class Action. The lead singer dies right off the bat. Stevie is a total Stevie Nicks rip off and the band sounds like Rick Springerfield meets solo Stevie Nicks, minus a teener of coke. They make a music video in a VW Thing and the brakes go out. Sabotage! Michael totally fools the people in Class Action that are looking for a new singer by submitting a demo video tape of him performing in Australia. Flashbacks to White Bird, Stevie and Michael are magical. It's pretty bunk that Stevie knows Michael is her former fiancé back when he was Michael Long and looked more like David Caruso from NYPD Blue.

worst ever episode
g_westwood5 May 2014
this is awful beyond belief, i hate TV shows that the do things like try and launch a singing career and throw a tiny story to go with it. i mean i watch every episode apart from this one. boring irritating pointless terrible songs drags on and on for what feels like months. guess i have to write more, but i really cant think of anything more, apart from i want to cry when i even see a slight clip of it. can i write more then ten lines about this without waffling no. im sure their are many other shows that have done this...buffy was one, but at least that was funny and actually some of the singing was rather impressive. i hate musicals too so thats why this annoys me so much too :-)

Cheesier than mouldy feet!

Oh dear god - KR had by this time become one big vanity project for the Hoff! It screams "Look at me, look at me" and just makes you realise what crap we were both fed and happy to watch back then! The cheesy 80s techno pop is excruciating.

The musical episode
Calicodreamin18 December 2021
Was not expecting KR to have a musical episode but here we are... the premise was a stretch, seems like there are much better ways to transmit information, and killing people over finding out? Seemed like the actual plot came as an afterthought to "we should do a signing episode!"
