April Curtis, Bonnie Barstow's replacement, is introduced in this episode but is not explained why she is there. In reality, Patricia McPhearson, who played Bonnie, was written out due to disagreements with the producers but with lobbying by fans, David Hasselhoff (Michael Knight) and Edward Mulhare (Devon Miles), Bonnie was written back in. While April's departure wasn't explained, Bonnie's return appeared as returning from a university where she had been studying although this isn't exactly explained in the episode (Knight of the Drones Part 1 from season 3) where she was persuaded by Michael to return to the Foundation.
