Trivia

In order to depict the plight of the homeless, the "Brother, Can You Spare a Dime?" (Episode #5.6) episode was shot almost entirely in the streets of New York and didn't include a laugh track for the entire episode. In the episode Allie (Jane Curtin), ran an errand in casual clothes and left her purse at home. The rest of the episode showed her being badly treated as she asked strangers for help.
