While in pain from the disruption in Tartarus, Zatanna says "llA si tsol! tsuaF stis no eht enorht fo lleH!" which backwards reads "All is lost! Faust sits on the throne of Hell!"

Hades's torture is reminiscent to that of Prometheus, who stole fire from the gods to give to men, and was punished by being chained to a rock and having his liver torn out every day (because it always grew back) by vultures.
When Hermes presents Diana with her orders from Zeus, you can see artwork on the wall depicting a woman riding a white bull. This appears to be a depiction of "The Abduction of Europa", a story in Greek Mythology where Zeus transformed himself into a White Bull in order to abduct the woman Europa to carry her off to a far land.
The demon that Wonder Woman compels with her magic lasso is named Abnegazer". The other two demons that he was fighting over a bone with were Rath and Ghast. This trio of demons were frequent enemies of the Justice League in comics and have been minions of Felix Faust who is also the featured villain of this episode.
