Detective Sergeant Gordon Cole (Del Henney) comes up from London to investigate the murder of his snout.
His body was found in the moors. The local police are helpful but not pleased about him poking his nose about and then getting the glory.
Sergeant Beck has a run in with Cole and leaves with a few bruises.
It all boils down to thieves falling out with one another about dividing up some stolen loot from a job some years ago.
Jean Darblay gets involved in some action as they go down to arrest the villains in a farmhouse
Del Henney who passed away in 2019 brings a lot of character to Cole. He is moody and a man not to be messed with. He is also a vegetarian and a bit of a loner. Yet before he leaves Hartley, he makes sure that his snout gets a gravestone which he pays for himself. Henney should had been a bigger television star, his career peaked with Fallen Hero.
There was an odd scene inserted at the end of the episode. The outdoor filmed bit was replaced with a shot of Cole and Darblay that was clearly filmed in the studio in video.
