Playboy Alec Worthing decides to sail around the globe only to find due to his own stupidity marooned on a desert island . After a period of solitude he meets another strandee Vicki who Alec quickly falls in love with . The relationship founders when a pilot - Joe - is washed up on the beach
The problem with this episode is the same with a large number of episodes in that they revolve around a doomed love affair/love triangle even if the story doesn't require it and this episode is a very good example of this
Imagine for a moment how much better the episode would have been if Alec landed on the island and became aware of something , some inhuman demonic creature was stalking him , an unseen horror where the audience is as terrified as Alec is . JTTU isn't a horror show - it's a supernatural one so the audience have to put up with an episode that might be more sensible than one featuring monsters but is also one that is very predictable
