Jonathan Creek: They were in the vanguard of progressive rock right through the 70s and 80s. They produced some seminal stuff.
Madeline Magellan: That's one way of putting it.
Roy Pilgrim: [Suspicious of Jonathon and Madeline] What are you?
Madeline Magellan: We're the only hope you got.
Roy Pilgrim: [Explaining how he spent his time handcuffed to radiator] I wrote three songs just to get my mind off my bladder.
Sheena: All right, why would you deliberately switch around a couple of hi-fi speakers?
Madeline Magellan: That's the question.
Jonathan Creek: That's not the question.
Sheena: What d'you mean?
Jonathan Creek: Fairly obviously you wouldn't.
Sheena: So, what's the point?
Jonathan Creek: None whatsoever I should think.
Sheena: All right, you've lost me.
Madeline Magellan: I think he's saying it could be accidental.
Jonathan Creek: Consider this way round... someone comes in to Pilgrim's house, and for whatever reason removes a pair of identical-looking speakers from the White Room. They return them, and because they look the same, they put them back the wrong way round.
Sheena: But who'd steal a pair of speakers and then just put them back again?
Jonathan Creek: A very honest burglar.
