1970's Prog Rock visionary Roy Pilgrim returns to his country estate after a jog and is surprised by an intruder. When he regains consciousness, he finds himself handcuffed to the radiator in his drawing room. Meanwhile, a teenage wannabe groupie dolls herself up in response to a handwritten letter from Pilgrim inviting her to his mansion for a private meeting. Witnesses see her enter through the double doors of the drawing room. When she goes missing, the police investigate to find Pilgrim still chained to the radiator, but he claims he never saw the girl or invited her to visit. Is his predicament an elaborate con to cover a tryst gone horribly wrong? If so, why concoct an alibi that no jury will ever believe? After being forcibly ejected from the scene of the crime, investigating journalist Maddie Magellan enlists the aid of Jonathan Creek. Written by balkaster
