Retired comedian Jack Holiday is found shot in the head in his nuclear shelter, carved in a cliff at his beach house, an apparent suicide as there is no way in or out. A day before, the man who served nine years fur the murder of Jack's wife, which he still denies, was released, only to be killed himself shortly after. Jonathan initially considers it a suicide like the police after inspecting the site, which includes a mystery lavatory, but arthritis disabled Jack from triggering the gun. JOnathan reconsiders after the second death and comes up with an ingenious plot fitting both deaths.
