"I'm just Brian Michael David Scott, Joey"
2 December 2017 | by See all my reviews

A pre 'Breaking Bad/Better off Saul' Bob Odenkirk guest stars in this episode that sees Joey being duped by a rival actor and Gina re-enter the dating world.

It's interesting to see the progression of the show as it went along, and by this stage Joey was now involved in both the stories being told, often when he didn't really need to be. No wonder when talking about the experience in interviews since Matt Le Blanc said it was like an elephant was sat on his head. Being in every scene of every episode must have been gruelling.

There was no real need for it either, other than the writers desperately trying to give the public what they wanted, because Drea De Matteo and Paulo Costanzo prove here (as they have in previous early episodes) that they are more than capable of carrying stories themselves. I really enjoyed their story line in this episode.

Sometimes you can have too much of a good thing, and Joey being in every scene was a good example of that.
