"Natalie Wood/Robert Wagner Show" is another hiarious ep of "The Jack Benny Program"
tavm2 February 2018
Warning: Spoilers
The recent revelation that Robert Wagner is a "person of interest" in the drowning death of his late wife Natalie Wood is the reason I felt a jones to watch a "Jack Benny Program" that had them as guest stars. Jack is waiting for a meeting with the CBS head. When he's allowed in, he wants to direct his program which is granted. Actually, what he really wants is to direct "Playhouse 90" (an dramatic anthology program on the air at the time)! So it's there that Natalie and Bob are rehearsing for their scene but not before they do a wonderful dance number before Jack arrives and boy, does he with his fancy director outfit! I'll stop there and just say how hilarious the whole thing was especially when Jack's flop The Horn Blows at Midnight is mentioned and the janitor is revealed to have been the director! There's also an interesting blooper when Robert mentions being in the business for 15 years and Natalie for 10 when it should be the other way around since it's well known Ms. Wood's career began when she was a child. Then when Jack mentions how long he's been in it, well, once again his age comes up...
