Storyline

Jack's guest is laid-back singer Andy Williams, which prompts a visit from Jack's Pasadena Fan Club President (Madge Blake, Aunt Harriett on "Batman"), who can't believe Really Old Blue Eyes would book another blue-eyed guest. Jack lectures Andy to work harder to promote his career, so Andy changes from a sweater to a tux to join Jack at a premiere - which turns out to be a meat market opening. When a customer (Lee Meriwether, Catwoman in the Batman: The Movie (1966) movie) gushes over Andy's crooning, he's too embarrassed to admit who he is. Written by David Stevens

My Fair Andy
21 February 2012 | by (Earth) – See all my reviews

Jack Benny welcomes singer Andy Williams to the program, although both TV hosts have blue eyes which could clash on black-and-white television sets. Jack praises Andy's easy-going style of singing. This prompts Andy's "Pasadena Fan Club" President Madge Blake (as Tillie) and VP Jesslyn Fax (as Emma) to run up from the audience and ask him to "belt out" a song. Andy sings "I've Grown Accustomed to Her Face" from his new "My Fair Lady" album. After the performance, Jack tells Andy he should get out more, which leads the pair to don tuxedos and perform at the grand opening of a meat market. The skit is short enough not to become too tiresome, but "Moon River" is regrettably cut.
