Did You Know?

David James Elliott (Harmon 'Harm' Rabb, Jr.) and Patrick Labyorteaux (Bud Roberts, Jr.) are the only cast members to stay with the series throughout its entire run. See more »

Bud's explanation of the deck numbering system was in error. The uppermost full deck on a ship is the main deck. Going down, the decks are numbered 2, 3, 4, etc, with 2nd deck being the next deck below the main deck. Going up, the decks are number 01, 02, 03, etc., and are pronounced oh-one, oh-two, oh-three. They are called levels. On a carrier, although the flight deck is the uppermost full deck, it is the hangar deck that is the main deck. The flight deck is at the 04 level. The levels continue up through the island to approximately the oh-eleven level. The navigation bridge, where the Captain's chair is, is at the oh-seven level. See more »

Commander Alison Krennick: [about Rabb] NCIS is demanding to have him removed from the investigation.
Adm. Albert Jethro 'A.J.' Chegwidden: Demanding?
Commander Alison Krennick: Yes, sir. Specifically, the investigator on board the Seahawk. An agent "Turkey".
Adm. Albert Jethro 'A.J.' Chegwidden: "Turkey"? You're kidding me.
Commander Alison Krennick: No, sir.
Adm. Albert Jethro 'A.J.' Chegwidden: [laughing] And I thought "Chegwidden" was bad.
Commander Alison Krennick: He's demanding that Lieutenant Commander Rabb be removed from the investigation, sir.
Adm. Albert Jethro 'A.J.' Chegwidden: Nobody pulls a JAG officer off an investigation except me or God, and He hasn't asked.

Skeleton Crew Pt II never existed.
22 August 2007 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

After viewing the DVDs of both Seasons 1 and 2 including the special features, I think I can piece together what happened.

Season 1 was on NBC who canceled it, and I think the episode was written as a season ending cliffhanger. When CBS decided to pick up the series, the network ordered some changes which included replacing the character of Meg with another actress who would be equal to Harm in rank and experience. Making the character a Marine instead of a naval officer added an additional level of conflict between them. According to statements made by Catherine Bell on Season 2's DVD, she heard about the changes and contacted David Bellasario for a chance at the role. To explain her resemblance to the dead officer from last season, they came up with the deja vu moment. The only reason I can come up with for not concluding Skeleton Crew was CBS would not want to air an episode that was started on another network, not only be due to competition, but half a story would be worthless in repeats. Somewhere in someone's computer there is probably a story treatment or even a script for the lost episode, but we'll probably never know.
