Investing in the future Navy
hindsonevansmike16 March 2021
A well-written episode, comparing naval cadets, historical cases, Navy recruitment, plus giving Harm and Mac a chance to get out of time and try an unusual case.

Bud and Gunny play a good double-act to help with the historical research - and a surprise witness throws a new light on the disaster.

The cadets, replaying a court-martial based upon an incident a decade earlier, manage to uncover new evidence which casts doubt on the original blame laid upon the "guilty" party - one of 29 sailors who died.

Meantime. Harm works with - and then dodges - Rene Petersen, the film director tasked with filming a USN recruitment advertisement.

More mis information

This show never ceases to amaze me with all the wrong information it bestows on us. In one scene Tiner is talking about a filing system that he and the gunny (what does a gunnery serg know about filing systems) that they created. First of all the Navy (and Coast Guard) have a service wide filing system that EVERY one in the services use. Second medical files of discharged personnel are NOT kept at the Washington Naval Yard. They are hardly kept at all! When a member is discharged very little from the Medical record is kept. The member may take items he/she wants but this is seldom even offered to the members! Items which are questionable and may lead to a finding for a Medical Board are kept, but little else. Plus anything they do keep is kept at the NPRC in St. Louis MO. Good God this show is such a joke.
