Damsel(s) in distress

We begin to see some ot the steel beneath Alison Krennick's character in her third outing in Season One.

With Meg in hospital having foolishly tried to headbutt a bullet (Alison dodges three rounds), she accompanies Harm and he digs into the background as to why Meg was shot when he was at lunch.

Touches of "Spy vs Spy" abound, as our hero and heroine track down the assassin. There are moments of peril and action (Andrea Thomson moves at SERIOUS speed in three-inch heels!) and there is eventually a happy ending for all (but not for the assassin).

Written in summer 2021 (25 years after the episode was first broadcast). I don't regard the above as a spoiler.

"Hemlock"
allmoviesfan30 April 2023
For the first time in JAG's debut season, one of the main characters is in serious jeopardy.

Meg is shot in the head by an assassin named Hemlock who is masquerading as a British Naval Intelligence office after having a classified fax regarding the movements of a high-profile person with the code name "Shepherd".

As the lieutenant clings to life, Harm and Commander Krennick, who caught a glimpse of Hemlock after he sot Meg, must figure out who Sheperd is, and stop Hemlock from carrying out another killing. They get an assist from Meg's friend Ollie (Colonel Oliver North) and free reign from Admiral Chegwidden.

A really good episode with plenty of tension, right down to the final scenes.

Keystone Kops, uh, er, Secret Service
dreifuerst5 October 2022
Yes, we love Harm, doing Harm things. And that gets us the positive 50% of this rating. Then we get the Keystone Kops guarding the head of state of the second most powerful nation on Earth at the time, the -50%. From Pentagon spy infiltration and exfiltration to accessing Secret Service guarded events, our antagonist is the James Bond/Jason Borne of the assassin world, yet it's a Navy pilot that's able to pierce his veil of subterfuge, keening out the ne'er-do-well's plans and also bypassing the Keystone Kops, sorry, I meant Secret Service security to gain personal access, while armed, to the Russian President. Boy howdy, a truly belly-laugh inducing episode.
