In order to investigate rarely seen patriarch Cyril Delevanti (as John B. Cannon) and his oil dealings with Communists, womanizing Alexander "Al" Mundy (Robert Wagner) goes undercover as a merchant seaman. A sickening potion administered by superior Noah Bain (Malachi Throne) gets Mundy ensconced in the family mansion.
