Isis: My Favourite Female Superhero
18 July 2011 | by (Sydney, Australia) – See all my reviews

Stolen Force Field would have been a better episode title. The title used does not reveal much at all. The Sound Of Silence is perhaps the only full-on science fiction tale in the Isis series giving this episode a unique identity in the series run. The episode is also one of my favourites.

This begins well in the school lab as the force field device is explained to viewers with the usual, and highly entertaining, background music scoring this scene. Student Bill then comes out with "It could be valuable to the other side". We don't get lines like that on TV any more.

The episode moves along nicely, concluding with a location filmed climax where Isis looks like a god as she just glares at the mis- guided youth, Bill.

Well acted, well scored, well filmed, well scripted...this episode is a sci-fi knockout!
