The facts become more and more obvious
3 September 2014 | by (Buffalo, New York) – See all my reviews

Chief Ironside gets leave from the San Francisco PD to go on special assignment, as the head of security at an unofficial conference between the Red Chinese and the USA. Back before Richard Nixon opened up China with de facto recognition of the regime with his visit to Peking it was always referred to in the American press, even the most liberal American press as Red China. Raymond Burr takes along Don Mitchell to help.

As it turns out security on his end is fine, but on the other side intrigue is boiling over like a stew on the stove too long. Philip Ahn the head of the Chinese delegation looks like he's getting sicker by the minute as the number 2 James Shigeta is rattling the saber before the conference actually begins.

The death of a chambermaid and the near death of Cecile Ozorio of the Chinese delegation has Burr's investigative mind turning. How will the Chinese head of security played by Kheigh Deigh react though. In a telling scene with Burr, Deigh says his office is political while Burr's is judicial. An interesting and quite illuminating exposition of the difference between the Communist system and our's.

The episode is built around what will Deigh do as the facts start to become more and more obvious. A good story is told.
