Ironside's lost & found love
5 July 2013 | by (Brooklyn NY USA) – See all my reviews

***SPOILERS*** Special Police Consultant Chief Robert T. Ironside, Raymond Burr, gets a pleasant surprise when he finds in his bunker like apartment, over the San Francisco Hall of Justice, pretty and mysterious Barbara Jones, Vera Miles. It was Barbara a nurses' aid who treated Ironsiode after he was gunned down and left paralyzed by an unknown assassin about two years ago. And he never forget how sweet and attentive she was towards him that made him recover from the helplessness he felt in becoming a cripple because of it. It's now Babrbra who needs help in that someone tried to murder her, by running her down in his car, the other evening. And even more surprising is that she's suffering from acute amnesia since she was found beaten and near dead at a truck depot outside San Francisco's industrial district more then two years ago.

In an effort to find out both the person who tired to murder her as well as Babraba's true identity has Ironside and his butler cook & driver Mark Sanger, Don Mitchell, check out the truck depot where someone there may know who she is. While this is going on Sanger who suspects that someone is hiding in Barbara's apartment, after hearing her scream, ends up getting knocked out coming to her rescue. It's later that Ironside & Sanger track down where Barbara, who's real name is Lois Richards, came from Chandler Country and from the sheriff there, Alan Baxter, she's wanted for the murder of her Uncle Joe Meeker!

***SPOILERS*** Not wasting any time Ironside soon uncovers the fact that Uncle Joe was the most hated man in the county. In fact he was hated almost as much as Uncle Joe Stalin the late dictator of the Soviet Union! So who among those who knew him and could have murdered him can very well be in the hundreds if not thousands! ***MAJOR MAJOR SPOILER*** As it's soon discovered by Ironside that it was Uncle Joe's nephew the fresh faced and innocent looking Billy Meeker, Kiel Martin, who did him in. And it was Barbara or now Lois Richards' misfortune to be at the scene of Uncle Joe's murder that had Billy try to shut her up by murdering Babraba, in breaking a number of her ribs as well as smashing her skull in, as well!

P.S The guy, Uncle Joe, was a Grade Triple AAA low life creep all right whom no one any any use for but he didn't deserve what he got. And it's what Billy did to Barbara by beating her unconscious, an even later in him trying to finish the job that he started, that brought Ironside into the case that brought about his capture and arrest!
