The Collector is a lieutenant of a late Mafia Don who had laundered money though many Sicilians based in Europe.
When the Don died, the Sicilians thought the money would be theirs's to spend. Little knowing that the Collector would later call asking for the return of the money.
When a small Sicilian businessman is killed in Paris. Inspector Duval manages to get to Carlo, a shopkeeper in London. He is being threatened by the Collector.
Carlo disappears but the Collector takes his daughter Maria.
It was just a shame that Maria was so naïve as to fall for that supposedly from her father. Also Duval who was keeping watch did not notice that Maria had left the shop.
The climax was rather heated.
