A synagogue reopens in Sparta
bkoganbing28 October 2020
Jerry Stiller guest stars as a rabbi who was born in Sparta and has come back to reopen a temple which was burned to the ground during the civil rights era. Back then Bill Gillespie was only a patrolman on the Sparta force and Stiller has bad feelings against him. Wounds that just don't heal.

Nevertheless Carroll O'Connor joins with Carl Weathers in tracking down the vandals who desecrated the temple and stole the Torah.

One of this series most poignant moments is when the Torah is restored and Chief Forbes is asked to carry the Torah as a show of solidarity in the ceremony.

Worth watching for that alone.
