Arriving for a job at Reynholm Industries, Jen Barber bluffs her way through her interview by Denholm Reynham by claiming an extensive knowledge of computers and is hired, acting as supervisor to Roy and Moss in the IT department. They soon see through her lie and are about to expose her but decide against it when Denholm announces that he will sack anybody who does not display teamwork. As exposing Jen's lack of computer skills would be considered a lack of teamwork, Roy claims they were there to inform Denholm of the new voice activation they have installed on his computer, which is untrue. Did You Know?

Behind Roy's desk is a standalone toy often confused with Stewie Griffin from Family Guy. It is actually Jimmy Corrigan, a character from a comic series predating Family Guy. On the wall behind Maurice is a sketch of The Flying Spaghetti Monster. See more »

When Jen enters the elevator, you hear the announcement that it is floor 34, but when they show the elevator floor button panel, it only goes up to 31. See more »

Roy: I mean, they have no respect for us up there! No respect whatsoever! We're all just drudgeons to them!
Moss: Yes! If there were such a thing as a drudgeon, that is what we'd be to them.
Roy: It's like they're pally-wally with us when there's a problem with their printer, but once it's fixed...
Moss: They just toss us away like yesterday's jam.
Roy: Yes! Yesterday's jam. That is what we are to them!... Actually, that doesn't work, as a thing, because, you know, jam lasts for ages.

As funny today as it was back then.

Jen has been interviewed at Reynholm industries, and is offered the job of the IT manager. She's lied about her technical knowledge on her CV, and is soon found out to have no IT knowledge at all. Sent down to the basement she meets her team, Roy Trenneman and Maurice Moss, a pair of socially awkward nerds. Her skills lie in being a people's person, she attempts to raise their profile by holding a drinks party, sadly the boys get it wrong.

It's so hard to believe this was made back in 2006, watching it again it feels as fresh, new and funny as when it first aired. The Amsterdam snaps are hilarious.

They're a magical bunch of actors, they're all slick, blessed with excellent timing, and the gags are plentiful.

Great start to what it a much missed brilliant show. 8/10
