Trivia

This episode seems out of place because it was originally supposed to air November 1, 1954, but was preempted. Although it's set in the New York apartment, it aired April 11, 1955, in the middle of the episodes set in Hollywood, California. See more »

Goofs

Lucy flubs a line, and tells Ricky that she met a "big agency man" who has a "show who's looking for a sponsor", requiring a post-production voiceover. In the final version, we hear Lucy saying that the agency man has a "sponsor who's looking for a show". (Amazingly, the DVD extra presents both the original mistake and the later voiceover for the viewer's comparison.) See more »

Quotes

Lucy Ricardo: You know what they say: Behind every great man, there's a great woman.
Ethel Mertz: Is that what they say?
Lucy Ricardo: Yes. Empress Josephine, Dolly Madison, Mamie Eisenhower, we're all back there.
Ethel Mertz: Well, if it gets dull back there, you can always start a Bridge game.
Lucy Ricardo: Oh, Ethel, we're all behind our husbands, guiding their destinies. We're puppeteers behind the scenes, pulling the strings.
Ethel Mertz: [Ricky walks in] Well, here's Howdy Doody now.
