- TriviaThis is the first appearance Gale Gordon (who played Mr. Littlefield) will make on one of Lucy's shows. He is best known for the role of Mr. Mooney on The Lucy Show and Uncle Harry Carter on Here's Lucy. While casting for I Love Lucy, Lucille Ball originally wanted Gale Gordon to play the role of Fred Mertz, since he was a member of the My Favorite Husband cast (Rudolph Atterbury). Luckily, William Frawley was found in time. But Gale Gordon was invited on the show for the first season as an act of friendship, just like what happened with Bea Benederet.
- GoofsThe Ricardos were due for dinner at the Littlefields' at 7:30. Once Ricky realizes that it's 8:00pm, not 6:00, he inexplicably doesn't call the Littlefields to let them know they've been delayed. This is very out of character for Ricky, as he's usually very dependable and prompt.
- Quotes
Ricky Ricardo: [Ricky tries a solution for Lucy's habitual tardiness] I'm making out a schedule so you can budget your time.
Lucy Ricardo: Budget my time? You mean like I budget my money?
Ricky Ricardo: Heaven forbid.
Lucy Ricardo: Now Ricky, listen...
Ricky Ricardo: You listen to me. Now, I'm sick and tired of you being late all the time. It's obviously that you can not budget your time, so somebody has to do it for you.
Lucy Ricardo: Well, I don't think I'm gonna like this. How does it go?
Ricky Ricardo: Well, we'll write down everythin' that you do during the day, and we'll allow so much time for each thin'. Ten minutes for this, fifteen minutes for that...
Lucy Ricardo: Oh, I'm gonna need more than fifteen minutes for that.

When they start throwing the food, omg!! Instant tears of laughter! I only wished his boss and the wife were on more than just a couple of episodes. Her facial expressions were priceless! Then again, maybe that's why Lucille Ball didn't want her around 🤔
