Carl Ballantine and Bob Hastings
27 November 2016 | by (Youngstown,Ohio) – See all my reviews

"The Used Car Salesman" opens with Major Nelson set to make a rare television appearance, Jeannie smashing up his car on the way. Mrs. Bellows introduces her unmarried cousin Homer Banks (Bob Hastings) to Jeannie, disguised as Tony's Kansas cousin, fending off his advances throughout. Meanwhile, used car dealer Carl Tucker (Carl Ballantine) tries to bilk Jeannie out of her master's car, repairing it then trying to sell it back under someone else's name. Veteran funny man Ballantine is a delight as one mishap after another plagues him before he makes restitution to Jeannie. Henry Beckman also has his moments as an uncomprehending policeman.
