"Jeannie and the Wild Pipchicks" features the third appearance of Jeannie's mother, here played for the first time by Barbara Eden herself. Jeannie receives a gift from her mother, a box of homemade pipchicks, delicious candies made from her own secret recipe. Tony eats one and suddenly finds himself with the strength of ten men, and when Dr. Bellows does the same he has it analyzed for its ingredients. Major Nelson is ordered to work on a new batch of pipchicks for the NASA space program, only for Jeannie's mother to cross them up with a different recipe. Once eaten, these candies bring out the person's hidden inhibitions, with Colonel Abigail Finch (Reta Shaw) suddenly reversing her tough demeanor to embrace Major Nelson, as Roger walks in: "Tony you shouldn't be doing that, she outranks you!" "she also outweighs me!" With Dr. Bellows becoming an Alaskan whaler and General Peterson warding off an Indian attack, Tony has his hands full trying to keep everyone locked up until the effects subside. Barbara Eden only has one scene as Jeannie's mother (repeating the role in "Is There a Doctor in the House?"), who considers her daughter to be very foolish living with an astronaut who rarely comes down from orbit.
