Did You Know?

The series received an initial order of 13 episodes. Because early episodes got mediocre ratings, the writers wrote this episode so that, if the show got cancelled, they could gracefully end the series with Victoria being the mother. The plan was to have Ted enter the bakery, Victoria saying, "Oh, thank God.", them kissing, and then older Ted saying in a voiceover, "And that, kids, is the story of How I Met Your Mother." Barney Stinson: [about the bridesmaid he hooked up with] And here's the most amazing part. Because I told her I converted all my money to India dollars, she gave me fifty bucks to take a cab to the airport. That's right, I just got paid for sex.

Barney Stinson: I really should give this money to the Peace Corps. They've done so much for me lately.

Okay, I love this show. And this episode is the best of the first year. A friend of a friend writes for it and says everyone is really nice and it shows!! I guess there are a lot of female writers on the show, and as a writer myself, I can really see the female voice in this show. Yay women in comedy! And yippee to a great, funny and sweet episode! I heard about this show from said friend, and started watching about six in (I have since seen them all on DVD--the episodes are great but sadly a lot of the music is different). The show follows Ted as he embarks on a quest to find his future wife and the future mother of the children that come and go in the show. The kids are listening to the story...I wish my dad had such funny stories to tell me...
