The Summary line title comes from the 1962 BArbara Lewis song that is used to frame this episode.

An out-of-sequence episode, directed by Steve Buscemi(one of my favorites),is the story of a six decades plus cold case of a girl's molestation and murder that has the sadly ironic misfortune of landing in the lap of already haunted Bayliss, who will always be haunted by the Adena WAtson case. Giardello wisely passes this one on to FAlson, who in turn goes to the last detective who investigated the case, one Thomas"Tommy"Finnegan(guest star Charles Durning),a long-retired Homicide dick who possesses as many prejudices as he does intuitive qualities.

A fantastic showcase for Durning and a good chance JOn Seda(Falsone)and--to a lesser degree Kyle Secor(Bayliss)--to shine in what seemed to be an increasingly rare episode of the series that had no direct ties to the developing plot arcs of the series' run.
