- The Germans have whipped up a plot to send German pilots in RAF fighters to shoot down British bombers.
- At the start, a truck is coming into camp at night. Six officers get out the back and fall in outside of Klink's office. Klink greets the officers and gives a speech. Carter is looking out a hatch under the water tower; Kinchloe is on a roof; Olsen is looking out of the dog house tunnel entrance. They are all trying to see how many and who these men are. All have walkie-talkie radios and are talking to Hogan; Hogan asks them to report. Kinch says that he needs more light. Hogan tells LeBeau to go outside. LeBeau goes out into the compound and 'surrenders' outside the front of Klink's office; searchlights swing to him, lighting up the officers. LeBeau, with his hands up, speaks French, but Klink does not understand him. Olsen, Kinch, and Carter all confirm that there are 6 Luftwaffe officers.
In the barracks, Schultz comes in to visit. LeBeau passes out chocolates to the prisoners; he won't give any to Schultz. He wants information. Schultz says that the Luftwaffe officers left in the morning, and will be back tonight. They left their things in the barracks. Schultz leaves. Hogan asks Kinch if there is any problem with bugging the Luftwaffe officers' barracks; Kinch replies only if you are caught and shot. Just then, Hogan and the others hear planes flying outside. They go outside, and see RAF planes flying maneuvers nearby. Hogan wonders why there are here; it is too far for them to fly from England. If there was an invasion, Hogan says that Klink would be hiding under his bed. Klink hears this, gets mad, and goes back into his office.
Hogan wants to get into their barracks to plant a bug. Carter and LeBeau go to the Luftwaffe officers' barracks; they get stopped by Schultz. LeBeau says that they are there to shine their boots. Schultz objects, but lets them in. While Schultz is talking to Carter, LeBeau quietly hides in a locket. Carter asks Schultz what happened to LeBeau, saying that he walked out on him. Schultz leaves, looking for LeBeau. Carter goes to one locker for LeBeau, but he is in another locker. LeBeau runs a microphone from an overhead light up to the ceiling.
That night, a staff car comes to STALAG 13, with General Burkhalter and Colonel Leman. They go to the Luftwaffe barracks. Hogan and the men are listening in on the coffee pot. Carter mentioned that he had to shine 6 pairs of boots; 7 if you include Schultz's. Burkhalter introduces Leman to the flyers. Leman says that so far, they have been training to use RAF planes. The next phase of 'Operation Albatross', they will learn RAF recognition codes and flight patterns. Then they will be taken to the French coast. Their mission is to shoot down the squadrons of allied bombers, be the fox among the sheep. Burkhalter says that their first mission will be on the 12th, meaning February 12th, Field Marshall Goring's birthday. Before leaving, Klink tells Burkhalter that Hogan saw the planes; what should he do if Hogan asks anything? Burkhalter says that Klink is ignorant about them; Burkhalter is confident with Klink in that regard.
Hogan asks Kinch to contact the Underground, ask them about anything suspicious regarding planes or airfields in the area
The next night, Schnitzer the dog man comes in with his van to change the dogs. He refers LeBeau to Fritzi, a dog that was brought in. After he leaves, LeBeau comes up the dog house entrance and calls for Fritzi; the dog comes over. LeBeau helps the dog down into the tunnel. The men find a message in the dog's leather collar: Meet agent Conrad at 2200hours. Hogan thanks Fritzi, and says 'Heil Hitler'; the dog starts snapping at him.
Later, LeBeau brings in agent Conrad into the tunnel. He tells Hogan and the men about an airfield with planes nearby. Hogan asks Carter for 6 demolition charges. Hogan asks Conrad for a few men from the Underground to do some shooting at the airfield. Hogan wants a distraction; Carter suggests a party. Hogan thinks, and says that there has been a party every evening in Klink's quarters for the pilots, he wants to be the life of the party.
The next day, Leman talks to Klink in his office about the route to take to the coast. Hogan comes in asking about ping-pong balls. Hogan 'recognizes' Leman, calls him Captain Kurt Leman, who is now a colonel; Hogan calls him 'Daredevil Dick'. He briefly talks with Leman about flying adventures; he ultimately gets invited to the party that evening for 'pilot talk', which was his original intention.
At the party, Hogan, Leman, Klink, Burkhalter, and the 6 pilots are talking and drinking. Hogan tells a joke that falls flat, but some laugh anyway. Leman pours Hogan some brandy; Hogan calls it machine oil. Leman says that this is the good stuff; Hogan asks what they are putting in the carburetor. Hogan acts like he is getting drunk. He goes to the bedroom, flops down on the bed, and 'passes out'. Olsen comes to the window; Hogan lets him in, switches coats and hats with him. Olsen flops down on the bed, Hogan adjusts him, and then leaves through the window.
Shortly later, in the tunnel, Hogan is dressed as a German officer, Carter and LeBeau as German privates. They will meet Conrad on the road. Hogan, Carter, and LeBeau go out through the tree stump entrance, take a small truck, and meet Conrad and 6 of his men. The men get in the truck, and they go to the airfield. There is a sergeant and 4 men at the gate of the airfield; the sergeant asks for orders if he is to be let in. Hogan pulls a pistol, takes the guards away, and opens the gate. Hogan tells Carter to set the charges for 60 seconds.
Back at the party, Klink and Burkhalter go to the bedroom to see Hogan; Olsen, pretending to be Hogan, is lying face down, smelling of schnapps. Klink says to look at him in all his 'glory'; Klink and Burkhalter leave the room.
At the airfield, planes blow up; Hogan tells Conrad good luck. Hogan, Carter, and LeBeau leave, while Conrad and the men fight the Germans.
At the end, Burkhalter at the party takes a phone call. The planes have been destroyed. Three men in Luftwaffe uniforms, one fits the description of Hogan, came to the gate and got in. Burkhalter and Klink go to the bedroom and find Hogan, who has switched places with Olsen again and is back. They wake Hogan up. Hogan wants a call for 6AM as he has an early war in the morning. He then falls back on the bed.
