Kathleen Freeman makes her last appearance as General Burkhalter's sister, Gertrude. This time instead of chasing Klink around the prison camp, she has brought along her new fiancé, Major Wolfgang Karp. And not only has she brought him to see the camp, she has also brought him, with help from her brother, to be second in command of Stalag 13 as the new adjutant. Thus clearing the way for him to take over command if anything happens, like a transfer, to Klink. But the real power behind the adjutant is Gertrude.
When Gertrude virtually takes over running the camp, Hogan knows it is time to act. He calls on one of the local underground women to make sure that Major Karp's stay at Stalag 13 is brief.
Kathleen Freeman is excellent as the feisty sister of General Burkhalter and makes the character come to life. The story was simple but getting to the closure was filled with interesting material and some funny lines. Another good watch.
