- Newkirk poses as a traitor to send information via a propaganda radio broadcast.
- The Heroes are about to pass to London much-wanted details regarding a new plant located nearby, when aerial bombing close to the Stalag knocks out radio transmissions. Later, Klink has the POWs assembled to hear a radio broadcast by Berlin Betty who is seeking volunteers to be interviewed on a future program. Any such respondent would be required to renounce the Allies' war efforts and in return will be treated to an intimate evening with Betty. With this in mind, Hogan hatches a plan to get the needed information to London.—Harry Tumilson
- At the start, Hogan gets information on a nearby ball bearing plant. Hogan tells Kinchloe to send the information to London, just as bombers are passing over. Bombs drop nearby, disrupting tunnel operations. Kinch can't send the message, and the men hide under a table. As the raid ends, the transmitter is broken, but they can still hear the receiver. Hogan wants to look for a foxhole.
Later, Schultz takes the prisoners out of the barracks for a word from the Kommandant. Klink says that in line with keeping the prisoners happy, he says that they will have a privilege of listening to a popular radio program, Berlin Betty. She wants prisoners at STALAG 13 to make statements as to how happy they are. Schultz wants to lay down his gun and surrender; he gets gigged by Klink. Hogan does not think that they send this stuff to London. Klink says that they broadcast Berlin Betty to London right after the cricket scores. Hogan has a plan on how to get the information to London.
Later, Schultz takes Newkirk to Klink's office. Newkirk asks to wait in Klink's office so others do not see him. Schultz says that Newkirk is not the first one to complain about the food. Newkirk does not want to complain about the food; Schultz is disappointed, the food has been horrible. Newkirk says that he wants to make an appointment with Berlin Betty. Klink comes in, and tells Newkirk to complain through Hogan. Schultz tells Klink that Newkirk wants an appointment with Berlin Betty. Klink is excited, and calls Goebbels on the phone. Just then Hogan comes in, and Newkirk tells Klink to tell Goebbels about the food, nodding to Hogan. Klink hangs up. Hogan and Newkirk leave.
The men are working on a truck in the motorpool. Hogan tells the men that London listens to Berlin Betty. Hogan tells Newkirk to use the emergency code, gives words to use, such as mama bear, papa bear, ball bearing plant, 25 anti-aircraft emplacements. Just then, Klink and Schultz come to the motorpool; Hogan wants the men to stage a fight. Klink says that Berlin Betty is coming to STALAG 13. LeBeau attacks Newkirk, calling him a traitor. Klink gets in the way and breaks his monocle. Klink send LeBeau to the cooler, and Newkirk to his guest room.
Berlin Betty comes to camp, and enters Klink's office. Newkirk is there. As Klink is welcoming Betty, Newkirk burns Klink's uniform with a cigar. After some small talk, Berlin Betty tells Newkirk to call her 'Betty', and Newkirk shows her his speech. She tells Newkirk that she wants to meet him privately. Klink asks Betty to use himself in the broadcast, and gives a sample airport tower call.
In the back room, Betty tells Newkirk that she has no choice, and looks for hidden microphones, saying that the Nazis are holding her family hostage. Newkirk kisses Betty.
In the barracks, Carter asks Hogan how we know if the message gets through. Newkirk comes to the barracks, and tells Hogan and the men that the Gestapo is holding Betty's family hostage. Newkirk says that he won't go through with it; Hogan talks him out of it.
Later, Betty and Newkirk are in Klink's office, and go on the air. Hogan, Carter, LeBeau, and Kinch are listening on the coffee pot. Newkirk gives the message. At the end, Betty says that she has no family, and was testing Newkirk. Newkirk helps her with her fur stole. Newkirk asks her about the kiss. She said that the kiss was from the Fuhrer; Newkirk was glad that they sent her, as he does not want to kiss a mustached man.
At the end, Hogan goes to Klink's office. Klink shows Hogan a citation from the Propaganda Ministry. Klink gives it to Schultz to have it framed, and Schultz leaves with it. Just then, planes fly over and drop bombs. Klink's last few words are hard to hear over the engines of the bombers. There are explosions; Klink ducks behind his desk. Schultz comes back in, says that ball bearings are flying all over the place; he hands Klink a few that he found. Klink wants to know what happened. Hogan looks at the ball bearings and says that either there was a direct hit on a roller skate, or the Third Reich is missing a secret ball bearing factory. Schultz asks Klink if he still wants the citation frames. He holds up the citation with holes in it.
