Hogan and Klink visit London
kfo949411 September 2014
In this enjoyable episode, Hogan is bribed by the Germans to go to London and bring back a P-51 fighter so that the Germans can study. The catch here is that Hogan will receive one million dollars for completing the mission. Failure to come back means death for all the men in his barracks. Hogan decides to take the million and bring back a plane. But that is not all of the story.

In fact, Hogan is going to London, not only for the plane, but also to catch a German spy-ring that is causing problems in the Allied Forces. Hogan will have vital information that he can pass to the Allies that will break up the ring and hopefully shorten the war.

Hogan will also have a travel partner to make sure all things are done the German way. But when Hogan finds out that his travel partner is Klink, he considers it a suicide mission.

This was a fast pace episode in order to get all the activities included within the time limit. And unlike some previous episodes, this had a fresh script with new adventures for the viewer to follow. An entertaining show that had many laughs. Good watch.

A Funny Episode Mostly Because Of It's Absurdity
verbusen16 December 2016
Warning: Spoilers
I had been recording this show on my DVR (MeTV network) but not really watching it much. Not that I never watched Hogan's Heroes before now. As a kid, I am old enough to remember watching it on it's first run and of course through 45 years of reruns, but for whatever reason I have not seen many of the last season episodes so I never watched this one before. When I read the plot summary of Hogan and Klink going to England to steal a P-51 I dropped all my normal TV viewing to see how that would come out. It just seemed so absurdly silly that it had to be funny, and it is! Highlights for me were Shultz eating Klink's gourmet food and drinking his booze at a party to butter up Hogan, Klink in England wearing his monocle and singing in the shower in German while on an RAF base! I give this one a 10 because it's so jaw dropping in it's plot, very unbelievable and funny in that way. Also they made an excellent effort to enhance the spy action part using a real P-51 where Klink (stunt double of course) jumped out of an actual flying Mustang! Nice to see they had a big budget until the end unlike a show like Star Trek which got pretty cheap in the end. Of course the ending is silly with no repercussions in the end that the entire German spy network in England was busted and nothing happened to Hogan! They know nothing! Nothing! Light hearted action comedy at it's best.
