For the love of Larry
25 December 2006 | by (Germany) – See all my reviews

This surely was the most touching episode from this series ever. Although I do not believe in an afterlife, I liked the idea of the departed dog saving his young master and his father (and some other boy threatened by a dangerous dog) very much.

The end was not so surprising to me, as in Germany - where I am from - the title of this story was "Grüße aus dem Hundehimmel" (Greetings from Dog Heaven), which was some sort of a spoiler. But in fact also the English speaking watcher could have a guess of the dog's being dead. How otherwise would it have been possible of the dog escaping from any place where he had been caught, and why did Jonathan (being an angel!) not know what this was all about? I hope that when I die (and there is an afterlife after all), I will be together again with all beings (animals and humans likewise) I loved in my life. Simply wonderful.
