Charlie Holman and Vince Crater steal $35,000 in new bills from the City Bank, but disagree over use of the funds. The younger and more impetuous Crater kills Holman, who had already placed the money in a suitcase and shipped it to another town by train. Crater is forced to sneak onto the train to try to retrieve the suitcase. He narrowly eludes Officer Dennis, but is unable to leave the train. Dan Mathews and Sergeant Williams find Holman's body and his shipping receipt, and they are able to deduce from their discussion with the Station Master that Crater and the money are both on the train. Dan orders the Highway Patrol helicopter into action to pursue the train and they spot Crater as he jumps when the train loses speed on a hill. They are able to trap Crater under a bridge, but forcing him out from the air proves difficult. Sergeant Williams disembarks from the copter in an attempt to surround the increasingly desperate and impetuous felon. Written by Sam Spear
