The Final Episode of Highlander: The Raven

Warning: Spoilers
I read that one of the reasons that this show was canceled after the first season was because of a lack of chemistry between the actors. I believe that I could see that lack of chemistry on screen, however in this short series there were some great episodes. I enjoyed seeing Amanda go through changes as she seemed to be improving herself into becoming a better person. I enjoyed seeing Amanda show compassion towards certain people in the series. It's unfortunate that the character Lucy was eliminated from the show. I also liked the character of the immortal priest, Father Liam. He reminded me of Darius.

This episode reminds me of a topic which is never well discussed in the Highlander universe. How does an immortal recognized a pre immortal, and why is the viewer always kept in the dark about that? Amanda obviously knew from the beginning that Nick was a pre immortal. It had crossed my mind more than once that maybe Nick would eventually be revealed as an immortal, but at the beginning of the last episode I didn't think that was going to happen. Surprise everyone! Nick is an immortal! One question here. Amanda shoots Nick in order to provide him with a violent death which Amanda says is necessary kickstart his immortality. I remember reading in Highlander Wiki about an immortal who froze to death which doesn't seem necessarily violent, but still gets the job done. Oh well.

Nick becomes immortal, then he immediately starts to complain and gripe about it. It's too bad. Nick could have become a great immortal (had the series continued). He was probably the one of the best prepared pre Immortal ever because he already knew a lot about immortals, and he was already a good fighter. It would have been interesting to see additional seasons of this show. Nick Wolfe exploring his immortality with Amanda as his mentor.
