Highlander but not Highlander
30 May 2006 | by See all my reviews

Adrian Paul is the star of the series and yet in this particular episode there is no trace of him nor his character. There isn't even a Methos, Joe Dawson nor any of the other regular faces we had grown used to seeing on a regular basis. Instead, we have an unknown immortal who takes part in a storyline that could have just as easily featured a Duncan MacLeod, even if it was just a minute of him, or at the very least, Joe Dawson. Something.

There was nothing. Mind you, it was a good episode otherwise. Unfortunately, it was with a character that seemed to have no relevance to the main stream ones, other than the fact she was an immortal. Big deal.

When the Highlander series had a spin off, I have to admit I would have much preferred Claudia Christian as the person to lead that spin off series as opposed to Elizabeth Gracen. At least in the spin off series going this route there would have been opportunities to explain what connection, if any, her Katherine character had with the other Highlander characters.
