Methos and Joe Dawson team up
danrs00000825 October 2020
Warning: Spoilers
1. Before the last season of Highlander came to an end the writers came up with another good episode, one which must be a favorite of fans of Methos. We see Methos being classic Methos and we see him at his best. We also are introduced to evil immortal Morgan Walker who is brutal, even murderous towards mortals, especially women. Methos crossed paths with Walker two centuries earlier after Methos enjoyed a brief romance with Walker's beautiful slave girl Charlotte. Walker kills Charlotte and challenges Methos to a fight. Methos declines and leaves. (Let me say here that the actress who played Charlotte is Paulette P. Williams. She was quite wonderful and made an impression. Unfortunately this actress has a rather short list of acting credits, and apparently played mostly minor roles) 2. Methos and Walker cross paths again in present day France. Methos is challenged again, but declines. Walker views Methos as a coward and is eager to take his head. 3. Methos would like some advice, but Duncan is unavailable because he went to England to attend a performance of the immortal concert pianist Claudia Jardine (Claudia from the season four episode "Timeless"). 4. Walker captured rookie Watcher Amy who also happens to be Joe Dawson's daughter (Joe has a daughter?). Methos and Joe join forces to rescue Amy. Methos ventually has to face Walker, and we get to hear Methos utter what is possibly his most memorable line of dialogue spoken during the series. You will know it when you hear it.

Where's Mac?

Boring and stupid story. Newbie or not, Amy's lack of precautions is ridiculous. For example, carry you incriminating diary with you? The shootouts are stupid. The writing is just bad.

Joe and Adam's arguments are also stupid. The casual use of Methos' name has always been careless. And Methos is not MacCleod.

The acting is bad. Taylor as Amy lacks any conviction. The slave girl's accent is a joke.
