Kit, an immortal friend of Mac's and a gambler, is in town to purchase a racehorse. Amanda is also in town visiting Duncan. Amanda and Kit know each other from 1888 when Kit owned a gambling saloon. Amanda won the saloon in a card game and initially kept his lucky coin piece although later agreed to Duncan to give it back. Unfortunately, the saloon burned down and Amanda thinks Kit did it. They both hate each other. In present-day Duncan(and Richie) try to keep them apart, from knowing the other is in town. Duncan inadvertently ends up being Kit's partner on the racehorse purchase, but later Amanda thinks Duncan bought it for her. This is a comedy episode.
I liked Kit and thought it was funny that every time he sensed an immortal he sneezes. He was a funny guy. I thought Amanda was kind of cruel when she took the saloon away from Kit. It doesn't appear she cheated but she feigned ignorance when she was really a card shark. I mean it was Kit's fault for betting the saloon in the first place, but just cruel that Amanda would actually take away something the guy loved so much and made him happy. I guess all is fair in cards and cons.
I never cared for the comedy episodes except for 'The Stone of Scone.' I just found overall they weren't well done and frankly kind of boring. I thought Adrian Paul and Stan Kirsch overacted their funny parts in this episode. Sorry, they're great actors, but I don't know what happened here. Also, they were more like bystanders in the story which really wasn't compelling or funny anyway, tho they tried. They all tried.
In this show, I always felt comedy moments in the more serious episodes tended to be funnier than the entire episode-comedies they had.
It was nice that Amanda let Kit win back the entire ownership of the racehorse. Props to her.
I usually skip this episode. It's not terrible. Just not that funny to me and kind of boring. However, you may like it as something different in the series. We all have different tastes, right? I gave it a 6/10.
