Manolito returns to the High Chaparral with Montoya's stallion after paying a breeding fee for Big John. On the way back the stallion and his money are stolen. His father persuades Manolito he should make an effort to recover the horse.

Storyline

Big John sent Manolito to his father's hacienda to broker a breeding fee for Montoya's stallion. After paying the $200 fee, Manolito leaves for the High Chaparral riding the stallion dressed rather well for the trip. He stops to help a man lying face down in the desert only to be robbed of the stallion and his money plus left hanging by his arms with no boots. He frees himself and returns to the High Chaparral. Big John sends Manolito with another $800 as a security deposit on the horse while his men look for the thieves. Montoya upset with his son's lack of concern pushes him to go after the horse himself. He soon learns the Mexican peons give him no respect due to his wealthy status so he changes to peon style clothes. A poor farmer gives him a clue to the men's location based on the name of a woman. He finds her which leads him quickly to the men who beat him up when he tries to steal back the stallion. He tracks them down again but they decide to kill him when they tire of his ...
