Hansi Bauer, an elderly German living at Coverdale Hall retirement home, asks Hetty to locate his sister Irmgard, whom he has not seen in thirty years. In fact, Irmgard has died, but she has a son with whom Hetty eventually reconciles Hansi. However a further problem arises when somebody at the home persecutes Hansi with vicious stunts suggesting that he was a Nazi - which he was not. Suspects include a war widow and an ex-POW but Hetty, working undercover as a resident, discovers that greed rather than hatred is the motive. Written by

Did You Know?
Hetty, all I remember of being ten is the hunger and an empty belly. Such times!
