Hazell Goes to the Dogs

Warning: Spoilers
Hazell has been hired by Ida Wiggins and the firm has been well paid. She thinks that her husband Wally, a wealthy bookmaker at the dog tracks is having an affair.

Hazell follows Wally, he even has a few drinks with him in the pub and spots Wally's car being stolen.

Hazell later finds out from Wally that his wife has left him. However Hazell has a nagging feeling that Wally might have done away with his wife.

A couple of good twists here, it is noirish Hazell style. There is an early appearance from Marina Sirtis who plays a young lady Melina who runs a Greek restaurant. Kenneth Colley has a nice turn as a jobsworth porter in the apartment block where both the Wiggins and Melina are living in.

Dave King makes the episode tick as Wally. He is very ebullient which rather blindsides the viewer but not Hazell but even then he is slightly off the mark. Wally planned to kill his wife and be with Melina. It was just that the person he got to the job spilled the beans to Ida who planned to get revenge by blackmailing her misbehaving husband.
