Femme Fatale

She's lovely. Don't you want her? Of course you want her. She's desirable. She's rich. She's smart. She's dirty. She's filthy. And she knows your weak points. She knows how to manipulate you. And you are a sucker. You are a born sucker for beautiful women. You've wanted them all your life. But you can't have them because you're a loser. So you want to be a winner. And she knows that. And she manipulates you into proving yourself worthy of her. She pits you against another man who wants her too. He's another loser. He's always making bad decisions just like you. Now you two are competing for this woman who knows how to make you do anything she wants. And she wants a lot. She wants you to commit crimes for her. Lots and lots of crimes. Maybe even.....murder.

This episode is about the power of women. The power of women over men. I gave it a "7".

why do they want her?

Warning: Spoilers
This woman is not THAT attractive and has an evil heart. I don't understand why these two men are fighting over her. There are plenty of pretty/sexy women around who aren't insane. When she first takes McGarrett's photo in the first scene, I thought she was middle aged.

In an early scene, one of the jerks called another 'blackie,' and the woman reacts as though being called 'black' is the ultimate insult. I found that pretty horrible. Black is beautiful...I thought they knew that even then!

Anyway, the episode is very interesting and worth seeing. McGarrett(of course) figures out immediately that the photo taking is a clue to the criminal. A bit pat, but that's Hawaii 5-0. You never can fool McGarrett.

A very good episode--and tightly written.

Warning: Spoilers
Off the top of my head, there are two main reasons I think this is among the best of season two's episodes of "Hawaii Five-O". First, the bad guys are really, really easy to hate. Instead of Wo Fat or the mob, this time the villains are obnoxious and selfish--in a way that breeds contempt towards them in the audience. One is a rich and very, very spoiled lady who has made a game out of winning her. The two men who want to marry her are to choose cards--each one with a message on the back of what crime they should commit just to make this horrid lady happy. Most of the crimes are somewhat petty--property crimes and the like, but later it works its way up to the big time--kidnapping and murder! As for the guys, they are greedy and stupid--and almost as easy to hate as the lady. The second reason it's a good show is that the script is very tight--with no obvious plot holes. I loved "Hawaii Five-O", but occasionally the writers got a bit sloppy in trying to create these one hour dramas--either skipping important steps towards solving the crime or making the criminals suddenly do dumb things that make it easy for Five-O to catch them. In this case, however, the cops aren't quite so lucky--the game eventually goes too far, and daddy's little angel is in too deep for her father's lawyers to rescue her.

Clever, well written, exciting and memorable--give this one a try.

The ending is the best part

I was particularly moved at the end when "Stumbles" throws his bottle into the ocean. This coming after what he had just experienced scared him into giving up his addiction - or so we are left to assume. Always brings a tear.

Good episode with exception to the ethnic slurs and some overacting by daddy's girl.

Greatest ep of Hawaii-Five O

The series went down from here. Jo Louise is sexy and a total dream but as it turns she is also bad crook. Beverlee McKinsee shines in this part more than any other actress in all the rest of the entire human race could ever. She has all great scenes. Tune in. After this the show went down. Should have brought McKinsey back for more guest starring roles!
